Come ready to feast on these carbs, New Yorkers.

Today is National Donut Day, one of America's most treasured national days for all the obvious carb-laden reasons, and now New Yorkers have extra reason to celebrate. Singer-songwriter Jake Scott is celebrating this most glorious day of jubilee with the launch of Goldenboy Donuts, available only on Grubhub. And yes, the goodness starts today with plenty of weekend room to stretch your donut craving legs.

The sweet, carby launch is actually a tribute to his upcoming EP Goldenboy, which comes out this June 25. Goldenboy Donuts is partnering with local brick-and-mortar donut shops in 11 cities for six months and will serve record-inspired flavors including Off The Beaten Path, Jake's take on the classic American apple fritter, The Shadow, which is his iteration of a chocolate Long John donut, and The Goldenboy, a mouth-watering regular glazed bit of pastry joy that appeals all the most basic taste senses.

Iconic New York City donut shops including Dough Doughnuts in Manhattan and Brooklyn and Mike's Donuts in Brooklyn will offer all three of Jake's sweet treats. Other popular boutique donut institutions across the East Coast, South, and South West will also be in on the sweet treat game.

Local New Yorkers are excited about the offerings, too. "Honestly, I like music and I like snacks," Bay Ridge, Brooklyn resident Simon Brower told us after learning of the partnership. "I live in Brooklyn, and honestly the city is coming back, but we are still ordering delivery a lot of nights and eating new spins on foods we already love or exotic flavors is a cool way to feel like you're going somewhere without actually putting shoes on or exhausting yourself by actually going somewhere. Also, it goes without saying that donuts are where the party is at."

The singer, who is known for singles including Favorite T-Shirt and Man Who Stays, is excited about his dose of flavorful Americana, something that matches his robust American pop music style and honors a bit of his Fayetteville, Arkansas heritage. The Goldenboy Donuts offerings are a fun spin on his biggest claim to fame so far, his work with Aloe Blacc and their much-adored single, Brooklyn in The Summer. The availability of Goldenboy Donuts at two Brooklyn locations and one in Manhattan was surely no mistake, and a fun, poetic spin that only devoted fans might pick up on.

For the first two weeks of the virtual donut shop, Grubhub will be offering $5 off orders with a subtotal of $15 or greater. This offer will be automatically applied on the menu page once the $15 minimum is reached, no code required. This limited-time offer ends on June 20, 2021.

Participating cities and partners offering Goldenboy Donuts include:

"My big plans for the next few days include kicking back with the NBA games, ordering donut deliveries, and being generally pleased with life," Simon quipped when asked if he'd be placing a Goldenboy order in the near future. "I'm always down for donut investments."

To find Goldenboy Donuts on Grubhub, diners can visit the shop’s webpage on Grubhub to see if there’s a location near your home.
