One of Los Angeles’ most beloved food festivals is opening its gates again for the first time in over a year
It’s been a lengthy absence, but Smorgasburg will finally reopen on July 4th—and Los Angeles is ready for it.
The ongoing pandemic has forced LA’s iconic open-air food and goods market to shutter for the entirety of the first year of the outbreak.
But resilient LA food lovers are ready for their fix – now that, in addition to updates on when they can once more stop by their favorite vendor stand.
From July 4, every Sunday, in downtown LA, Smorgasburg will be back with the best chefs, creators, and makers from around the world to bring you insanely (delicious) food and drinks
LA has some of the best food in the world. Smorgasburg LA puts it all in one place with 50,000 people visiting each weekend to eat from a hundred local vendors.
If you're new to Smorgasburg LA, it's pretty much a collection of some of the best food vendors in all of Los Angeles, then placed in one location for you to enjoy.
This is a great thing because we don’t have to chase one or two specific street corners where food trucks may be located but get the best out of Los Angeles in one place.
Smorgasburg has been closed since 12 March 2020.
A statement at the time explained it was a heavy blow for markets, which "have always been about sharing, bringing people together, and connecting in a free and open public space."
Here’s What to Expect When It Reopens on July 4
Smorgasburg LA is back on Independence Day, offering hungry Angelenos the chance to sample their way through the city’s street food scene.
And if you are a vendor, applications are now open for all types of food and goods, and some one-off events, on their website, la.smorgasburg.com
You'll have to wait until closer to July 4 for the complete list of vendors who will be present this year across the five-acre venue.

It’s official! We’re reopening on Sunday July 4th at our home for the last 5 years @ rowdtla. Tons more info coming soon, including what vendors will be coming back and what new vendors will be joining our family. But for now, mark your calendars and get ready to feast.
