This Friday, June 4th is National Doughnut Day 2021! It's a holiday created in 1938 by The Salvation Army to honor the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I. Now we all use it as an excuse to eat doughnuts all day--but at this point in our post-pandemic lives, I think we all need a little more sweetness.
So now make it your patriotic duty to go out and eat for free- or at least support a local small business!

The brand has even expanded to fashion this year with the #NationalDonutDay collection. The limited-edition donut-themed looks will be available starting June 3rd on the Dunkin website.

Trejo's Coffee & Donuts
Trejo's Coffee & Donuts is doing something a little different for National Doughnut Day: a beer collaboration! The Bruery from Orange County has created some doughnut-inspired brews from local shops in Los Angeles including the Abuelita's from Trejo's Coffee & Donuts.
Abuelita’s is a raised donut with dark chocolate and dark chocolate crumble which has been crafted into the Abuelita’s Special brew with an alcohol content of10.5% ABV.
Pop into Trejo's for a donut or the limited edition Donut Box which includes eight 16oz cans of beer and two collectible Donut Box Glasses ($120).
DK's Donuts
This Santa Monica shop has been opened 24/7 since 1981 and even a pandemic couldn't shut them down!! This is where you can get your National Doughnut Day 2021 fix before the sun even comes up. This year they'll have live DJ music from 9 a.m. all the way until 1 a.m. plus some exclusive flavors like Strawberry Pocky Donut and Animal Cracker Cream.
There will also be a limited menu for your delivery apps so you can SKIP THE LINE but not miss the party.
