HOUSTON — Houston Heights Association will be holding the Annual Houston Heights 5K, 10K & Kids 1K Fun Run. It will be the first hybrid event, offering both in-person and virtual options. This concept is employed to ensure proper social distancing and keep the community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The in-person option will have multiple starting waves with a limited number of people per wave. This event will be held at Marmion Park (1800 Heights Boulevard) on September 18.

The virtual option can be conducted starting from the registration time until race day. Virtual runners also can track their own 10K or 5K race in their spare time and give their results to event organizers. All participants, both in-person and virtual, will be recognized.

As the organizers limit the number of participants, they might change the start times for each wave at any time. Changes will depend on the number of the registered participants. Start times will be announced as early as possible. Participants are advised not to crowd the starting line until it is time for their wave to start.

There will be an after-party with local community vendors or sponsors at the park. Awards will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers in every competitive category and handed out at the after-party at 10 a.m.

People who wish to join this event can visit https://runsignup.com/Race/TX/houston/HoustonHeights5KRun and pay the registration fee of $35 for all classes. All registered participants will also receive an official Boulevard Blitz T-Shirt.
