At approximately 8 am an incident involving an assault was reported at 180 Jones Street on the southeast corner. The corner doesn’t appear to have any cameras.

Police responded and confirmed that a man had sprayed two people with bear spray.

The man then fled eastbound on Turk Street.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, approximately 5'9" tall, wearing a black baseball cap, a brown jacket, and dirty blue jeans.

Both victims were flushing their eyes out with a hose given to them by a local business. Medics arrived on Turk and Jones for another medical call but moved over to this scene.

The cause of the incident is unknown, nor why these two people were assaulted, nor why the man was in possession of bear spray in San Francisco. It is also unknown where the suspect is currently.

Crimes involving Bear Spray

Just five days earlier, in Half Moon Bay, a woman was arrested after she allegedly attacked a good Samaritan with bear spray following a minor traffic collision. This report comes from CBS San Francisco.

According to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was involved in a crash on 150 San Mateo Road (Highway 92) near Highway 1.

A bystander intervened and tried to mediate between the two parties, when the suspect without provocation sprayed the bystander with bear spray in the face, deputies said. The suspect then fled on foot.
