I just got back from an afternoon at the Grand Sierra Resort Pool. Let me tell you, it was fabulous. It felt like pure summer. The days are already getting hot - heatwave hot, and there is no better place to be than a pool in the summertime. You do not have to be a hotel guest to go to the GSR pool. It’s $20 dollars for adults and kids over 11, free for kids 11 and under.
The staff is friendly, so friendly that I could not help smiling. It was hectic, people wanting drinks, food, asking questions and every single member of the GSR staff that I spoke with was fun, friendly, and kind.
The pool is really nice. It can get crowded, but any pool that is open to all of us can, right? And sometimes, if not most of the time, that crowdedness is part of the fun. Kids play with kids and become friends, adults strike up conversations with other adults, or you can find a quiet spot of the pool and just chill alone or with your circle. You can pay the 20 and get a regular, nice, poolside chair or you can pay a bit more and rent out a cabana for you and your friends. As mentioned, there’s food, there’s drink and also, there’s music. It is fun!
I went with my daughter and her friend, and her friend’s stepmom and we all had a good time. We swam and splashed, felt COVID safe as it was outside, and we wore masks inside the building because of the kids, and we ate pizza and fries. Magical!
