ATLANTA — On Saturday, June 12, Christian City will welcome the public for their second annual charity event, Race for Safe Place. Organized by the Christian City Teen Board, the race will be conducted on the organization's 500-acre campus.

It costs $30 per person to register online and $35 per person to register at the event. On the day of the event, the registration booth opens at 8:00 a.m, and the race will start at 9:30 a.m. The 1-mile run will lead its participants to tour the Red Oak Road, while the 5K run will challenge runners to circle their campus.

The organization will use all the money raised from the Race for Safe Place to support its four Children & Family Programs: Children's Village Residential, Crossroads Foster Care & Adoption, Graduate Transition, and Safe Place Program.

It's possible for those who are uneager to run to donate and support the cause as well. For more info about the race or to become a sponsor, go to https://christiancity.org/raceforsafeplace/.

Christian City is the local agency for the National Safe Place program, with staff available 24/7. Working in partnership with the Metro Atlanta YMCAs, QuikTrip gas stations, police and fire stations in Carroll, Coweta, Cobb, Douglas, DeKalb, Fayette, and Fulton Counties, youth in peril can text or call for aid, and a member of the Christian City staff will pick them up and bring them to safety while finding a long-term solution for their care.
