AKRON — Akron is one of the most diverse cities in the United States. You can find a lot of thriving communities of various backgrounds that call Akron home. This melting pot is bound to create a fusion restaurant or two, and one of them is the humble Jasmine Home Cooking.

The restaurant is located at 21 Furnace St, Northside Marketplace, Akron, Ohio. Just like the name implies, Jasmine Home Cooking focuses on easy and simple home cooking. This (mainly) Asian restaurant also has a Mediterranean twist to it, so it also offers popular dishes like gyros and chicken shawarma.

If you are a vegetarian, look no further. You can find a rich option of vegan menus in this restaurant. These include gyro with tofu, baked tofu marinated with extra-virgin olive oil & Mediterranean herbs, and hot chickpea stew. If you are a fan of spicy food, the latter is especially recommended.

When it comes to their true strength— East Asian cuisine, restaurant owner Jasmine and her husband, Avi, have got a ton of recommendations. Their Donburi, Japanese for rice bowls, is something a must-try. If you are more of a noodle person, you can try their homemade buckwheat soba noodle, complete with veggies and sesame oil.

To ensure the safety of everyone, Jasmine Home Cooking follows Covid-19 safety guidelines and protocols very well. Their staff wear masks, run temperature checks, and provide hand sanitizer for customers. They are open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11.30 am - 6.30 pm.

Jasmine Home Cooking is also on Doordash, Grubhub, and UberEats so that you can have a taste of their delicious homestyle cooking from the comfort of your home.
