(WASHINGTON) President Joe Biden will declare June a "national month of action" to get more people vaccinated against COVID-19 by July 4, CNBC reported Wednesday.

In early May, Biden set a new goal to get 70% of U.S. adults to receive at least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine and at least 160 million adults fully vaccinated by Independence Day.

Speaking from the White House on Wednesday, Biden will double down on his administration’s efforts on the U.S. vaccination campaign, which has considerably slowed down in recent weeks as enthusiasm has waned.

During his remarks, Biden will "outline an all-of-America approach” to his vaccinate campaign, which will mobilize national organizations, community-based and faith-based partners, businesses, social media influencers, celebrities, athletes, colleges, young people, and thousands of volunteers, according to a White House official.

Biden has held the Fourth of July as a date where he hopes the country will draw a step closer to post-pandemic normalcy by reaching 70% of adults with at least one shot of the vaccine.

Almost 63% of adults, but only about half of the entire U.S. population, have received at least one dose, per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data.

The country still has to vaccinate about 20 million adults to reach Biden’s goal by July 4.
