AKRON - The pride of Akron, Akron Symphony Orchestra (ASO) will be back performing on the stage with the Outside Voices Concert Series.

Since the beginning of the pandemic last year, ASO has taken a 16-month hiatus. Now, ASO will return to collaborate with numerous composers of Northeast Ohio. This summer's Outside Voices Concert Series is a six-concert series and is free of charge.

The series starts at 7:30 p.m. and takes place at the following locations across Akron:

  1. Lock 3 in downtown Akron on June 19
  2. Hale Farm & Village on July 9
  3. Hale Farm & Village on July 11
  4. Goodyear Metro Park on August 1
  5. Firestone Park on August 8
  6. Forest Lodge Park on August 15

Despite being free of charge, fans who plan on attending the concerts are expected to attend RSVP by visiting the individual concert pages on AOS's website. The RSVPs are to be included in a lucky draw for two tickets to an ASO concert at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall for the 2021-22 season.

The performances on the Outside Voices Concert Series highlight the various segments of ASO as follows:

The ASO will also showcase 30 musicians of American Bandstand presented by Fleet Response, a family-friendly, patriotic summer concert music program with familiar composers like Aaron Copland, John Philip Sousa, Scott Joplin, and John Williams. The performance will begin at approximately 6:15 p.m. on the Wentz Financial Group Driving Range.
