There are many different cultures and histories in Texas. In every landscape, whether it's west Texas' rolling hills and rough terrain, the beautiful plains, or the coast, there is beauty, and that beauty is seen in the wide variety of movies set in Texas. Despite its popular image as the land of cowboys and oil rigs, these Texas movies will inspire your imagination and possibly a road trip across the state.

Here are three famous movies and films set in Texas:

Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (2020)

Borat Subsequent Moviefilm is about a Kazakh journalist, who has been called to the office of Premier Nazarbayev for a life-or-death mission 13 years after he experienced culture shock in Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006). Borat must now return to Donald Trump's America to present Vice President Mike Pence with an extraordinary gift to redeem himself and salvage the glorious nation of Kazakhstan. But, unfortunately, tutor, Borat's newfound daughter of fifteen, instead enters the picture and changes everything. In the meantime, feminism, racism, and a deadly virus called COVID-19 are discussed as the now-famous Borat gets into American politics. So, will Borat, Kazakhstan's fourth-best journalist, carry out his mission?

The Tree of Life (2011)

The Tree of Life tells the life of Jack O'Brien, who has lived most of his life in the suburbs of Waco, Texas, with his parents and two younger brothers. R.L. Steve is also there. He is experiencing emotional conflict primarily because of the dichotomy between his parents, specifically with his father. Even though both his parents loved him and his siblings, they displayed their love in very different ways, which was often at odds with each other. Mother tried to provide her children with a sense of wonder about the world by being overly caring and nurturing. However, to prepare his children practically for today's complex world, his father would not tolerate disobedience. In addition, Mr. O'Brien's actions were influenced by his internal conflicts about what he did and what he wanted from life. The thoughts of a middle-aged Jack also reflect on the death of his brother R.L., who was killed in military service at age nineteen.

No Country for Old Men (2007)

No Country for Old Men talks about an unnamed hunter stumbles across more than two million dollars in cash, and a drug deal went wrong near the Rio Grande, resulting in violence and mayhem. In rural Texas, a welder and hunter named Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) discover the remains of several drug runners who have all been murdered during an exchange gone wrong. When Moss discovers the two million dollar gift, he decides to keep it rather than taking it to the police. Unfortunately, in the process of pursuing the goal and the money, Chigurh (Javier Bardem) dispassionately murders nearly everyone, including his boss, as he follows the key and the capital. As Moss desperately attempts to keep one step ahead, the blood from this hunt begins to flow behind him with relentlessly growing intensity as Chigurh closes in. Meanwhile, the laconic Sheriff Ed Tom Bell (Tommy Lee Jones) blithely oversees the investigation even as he struggles to face the sheer enormity of the crimes he is attempting to thwart.
