AKRON — Sushi is a popular dish that is simple and fulfilling, and if you happen to be in Akron, you can grab some fancier ones at Kintaro Sushi and Hot Pot. Located at 4054 Medina Road, they are open from Monday-Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9.30 p.m.

At this Japanese-themed all-you-can-eat restaurant, you can find a wide variety of cuisines, ranging from soup, salad to appetizers. Of course, you will find the iconic pair of Japanese cuisine: sashimi and various types of styled sushi.

As Kintaro's two main all-you-can-eat menus, people often confuse sashimi with sushi. If you don't know the difference between the two, sashimi is thinly sliced fresh raw fish, eaten with a variety of garnishes and sauces, on the other hand, sushi is vinegared rolled rice with fish and vegetables as its filling, often accompanied by dried seaweed.

One thing that makes Kintaro stand out is how they label their special rolls. They are named after famous Japanese and American car brands. You can order Japanese car sushi such as the Toyota, Nissan, Mazda sushi, and American car sushi such as the Tesla, Ford, and Jeep sushi. That's not something you see every day.

If you prefer a more typical Asian dish like fried rice and noodles, they have them too. You can find chicken and shrimp fried rice as well as udon and soba. Udon and soba are also among the many Japanese dishes people often get confused with, but let us tell you a secret. Udon is a thick light-colored noodle, while soba is its thinner and darker counterpart.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Kintaro Sushi and Hot Pot offer takeaway and delivery services. If you prefer to dine in, you can rest assured as the restaurant observes strict health and safety protocols.
