“Absinthe” is a show at Caesar's Palace that showcases feats of acrobatic artistry, comedy, and high value entertainment. It's also one of the first shows coming back to the Las Vegas Strip, now boosting its calendar to host 16 shows every week.

Staring on the 4th of July, “Absinthe” will run two shows every night, with a third show Fridays and Saturdays. The grand total will be 16 shows each and every week, a full schedule for a headlining show. The producears are aiming to fill the 600-seat theater to full capacity, as Clark County has lifted occupancy restrictions.

In an article originally reported by John Katsilometes, at the Review Journal, there's an interview with who Katsilometes refers to as "self-dubbed Impresario Extraordinaire Ross Mollison." Mollison had this to say when referring to the reopening of the show: “I’m super confident it’s going to work." Mollison is the founder of Spiegelworld production company, and the person who has coordinated the expansion of “Absinthe’s” schedule.

The nightly breakdown at the show’s Spiegeltent at Caesars Palace’s Roman Plaza will be 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays; 7 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Prior to the 4th of July, the show will keep it's current performance schedule, which is at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. Ttickets start at $149 apiece, without fees, and are onsale at Spiegelworld.com.

As Katsilometes points out, the 16-show schedule is a throwback concept to earlier Vegas productions, which frequently performed at least twice a night with no breaks. “Evening at La Cage” at the Riviera, starring Frank Marino, in the mid-to-late 80s ran 18 shows per week (21 during the spell when Marino was famously sued by Joan Rivers). Also in those days, “Crazy Girls” pushed 18- and 20-show weeks at the Riviera.

Mollison had this to say: “Just because of the extraordinary demand, we, at this point, think we’ll sell every ticket. The big question mark over Vegas when we came out of the real pandemic, when it was really intense and at a low percentage of capacity, was what would happen midweek? But Wednesday and Thursday are just as big as Friday and Saturday.”

The reopening of "Absinthe" signs a return to normalcy on the Las Vegas Strip. More shows are likely to announce their returns and restrictions are relaxed.
