Two dead, two injured after multi-vehicle crash in Buckeye

(BUCKEYE, Ariz.) Two died and two more were injured after a multi-vehicle crash in Buckeye on Sunday night, The Arizona Republic reported.

The Buckeye Police Department said the crash happened around 10:30 p.m. near Verrado Way and Van Buren Street.

On arrival, officers found one vehicle on fire, a second vehicle had a trapped person and a third rolled over multiple times and landed in a field, police said.

Two people inside the vehicle on fire weren't able to escape and died at the scene, according to Buckeye police. The woman in the second vehicle was rescued by police and taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The third person in the vehicle that rolled into the field was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Information on what led to the crash was not immediately available, nor were the identities of the two who died in the crash.
