(ATLANTA, Ga.) Music Midtown, one of Atlanta’s most prominent music festivals announced its return for 2021 and the musical acts have been announced. The event took place between 1994-2005, took a six-year hiatus and returned in 2011.

Normalcy seems to be restored after a year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the pandemic continues, many live events are returning to the city. The music industry took a hard hit during the pandemic and many fan-favorite events were postponed or canceled but some are ready to make a comeback.

Set for the fall, big names like Maroon 5, Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers and DaBaby have been announced as the headliners. In addition to the main stage, other acts like 21 Savage, Megan Thee Stallion, Machine Gun Kelly, Jack Harlow and over 20 additional artists will take place on the 4 stages throughout the day.

Postponed due to the spread of COVID-19, the annual gathering will take place in Piedmont Park on Sept. 18 and 19. Before the shutdown, the 2020 festival announced My Chemical Romance as the headliner and would have featured a reunion amongst the band. While the group won’t take the stage at this year’s festival, they are scheduled to headline at Music Midtown next year.

In 2019, the festival featured Billie Eilish, Travis Scott, Panic! At the Disco and Cardi B and entertained a crowd of close to 50,000 attendees per day.

Details regarding safety precautions and guidelines are still being worked out and will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets for this year’s festival are currently on sale and tickets purchased for last year’s festival will be honored.
