Omer and Jennifer Horev, founders of the Miami-based food and lifestyle brand Pura Vida, recently announced the opening details for their seventh location. The new restaurant, slated to open Thursday, June 10, will be the newest health-minded eatery to join the Aventura ParkSquare neighborhood.
The husband-and-wife duo behind the South Florida lifestyle brand are steadily expanding their empire since opening the first Pura Vida location in Miami Beach in 2012. The newest all-day café comes on the heels of the brand's most recent 2021 opening in Palm Beach, but even bigger expansion plans on the horizon, its founders say, with three additional Pura Vida locations slated to open later this year.
Today, Pura Vida stands as one of the area's most popular wellness-themed eateries. The brand currently has more than a half dozen locations including South Beach, Miami Beach, the Miami Design District, Edgewater, and Coral Gables at the University of Miami. Future expansion plans include Bay Harbour, Brickell, and Fort Lauderdale.
With atmosphere at the forefront of its design, Pura Vida is meant to feel like an extension of the Horev’s home: welcoming, approachable, and the type of place guests are proud to call their own 'neighborhood' spot. Each location, including the new Aventura spot, offers an array of all-day breakfast menu items, specialty coffee drinks, fresh salads and wraps, health-focused bowls, superfood smoothies, fresh-pressed juices, and locally brewed organic kombucha along with and a wide variety of gluten- and sugar-free and/or vegan treats prepared fresh in-house daily.
"We’re looking forward to 2021 being our biggest year yet," said Omer, who recently opened Abba Telavivian Kitchen alongside his wife/business partner in Miami's South of Fifth district. "We’ve had our eye set on Aventura for some time and we truly believe the ParkSquare neighborhood combines the very best where healthy living and wellness is top of mind, which is very much in line with the Pura Vida brand."
"As the evolution of Pura Vida unfolds, I believe the brand has matured into much more than an all-day cafe," adds Jennifer. "We’ve been steadily transforming into a lifestyle, health-conscious brand and we really enjoy working with local vendors who bring new ideas and concepts to the table."
Wanting to remain consistent, Pura Vida's signature experience and cuisine will remain the same with the opening of the latest Aventura ParkSquare cafe. The menu will feature the brand’s all-day breakfast featuring a range of avocado toasts, pasture-raised egg sandwiches, wraps, and customizable bowls, and açaí bowls made with raw, organic Brazilian açaí.
Other popular dishes include the Mango Salmon, Spicy Tuna, and Vegan Lentil Bowls, as well as the Toasted Chicken Wrap and Jen’s Herb Salad. Recently introduced menu items include the Fire Egg Bowl and a longtime signature favorite with a fresh update, the SOBE Salmon Wrap.
The addition of a new in-house baker has also allowed the Pura Vida team to launch its own line of vegan, gluten-, and sugar-free pastry options, made especially for those with dietary restrictions — but also as a delicious snack option for those with no dietary concerns. Standout new bakery items baked in-house include the Nocciola Croissant; filled with Belgium chocolate and hazelnut spread, the Gluten-free Oatmeal Chocolate PB Energy Bites; made with peanut butter, oats, honey, chocolate chips, chia seed, flaxseed, coconut, vanilla bean and salt, and the Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie; made with all-purpose flour, coconut oil, dark chocolate, salt and walnuts.
