Akron man killed in West Virginia; area police looking to serve murder warrant to Parkersburg man

(AKRON, Ohio) Out-of-state police officers are investigating the death of an Akron man following a fatal shooting 143 miles from his home on Sunday in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Per News 5 Cleveland, Parkersburg police are currently searching for area resident Victor Thompson, 43, who is suspected of murdering 36-year-old Akron resident Darren Salaam on 17th Avenue in the West Virginia city.

A Facebook post from the Parkersburg department states Thompson is accused of assaulting a female upon arriving at the local home where she lived before turning the gun on Salaam and then fleeing in a dark Dodge truck.

Parkersburg Police encourage anyone with information on Thompson's current whereabouts to message the West Virginia department's Facebook page or call Sgt. B.J. Depue at 304-424-1061 with tips as their investigation continues.
