Did you know each month, there is a free day at The Arboretum? It is a popular event for people looking to learn about plants and trees while connecting with nature.
The Arboretum is a place for everyone to enjoy plant collections, i,ncluding rare and endangered species worldwide. Everyone can explore the gardens, trails, walkways, and secure areas in the botanic gardens.
No matter if you are a first-time visitor, a local resident, or a member of the community, experience The Arboretum as a green gem within walking distance of many other local attractions.
This free public program is offered annually through the Los Angeles County Parks Department on the third Tuesday of June each year.

The wildly popular monthly Free Day will be held on Tuesday, June 15,, from 9 AM to 5 PM. Tickets are limited in number (and five per household) and can be obtained by completing an online reservation form on the website at arboretum.org.
Reservations will be available beginning June 1 from 9 am. There are four entrance times for the free day from which you can choose: two morning times (9 am or 11 am) and two afternoon times (1 pm or 3 pm).
The Arboretum provides a wonderful respite from urban life and is a great place to expand your knowledge of native plants and habitats. From ground level to treetops, the experience is both educational and restorative.
Its collection celebrates and preserves many rare and endangered species of plant life, including California native plants, palms, and cycads, cactus and succulents, Mediterranean plants (such as olive trees), South African plants used for landscaping (such as fynbos), Australian plants (such as eucalyptus).
Open daily, and only closed on Christmas Day, the Arboretum offers an abundance of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, picnicking and garden tours.

The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden are governed by the Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation and the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation.
Online tickets need to be reserved in advance. Tickets are limited to five per household. Tickets are available for the free day on a first-come, first-served basis at 9 am from Tuesday, June 1st. The Arboretum free day is Tuesday, June 15.
