Dunedin is one of Pinellas County’s smaller towns, but that doesn’t mean there are not plenty of great places to eat and drink there. Dunedin is one of the oldest towns in Florida that goes all the way back to 1852.

From local breweries, to restaurants, pizza shops, and ice cream shops, there is a little bit of everything. Make sure you go early because the town is not a late-night spot. Here are some great options for when you visit Dunedin.

The Honu - This is a Hawaiian tiki bar with plenty of food as well. You’ll find spam musubi, a variety of Asian foods, and course quality tiki drinks. Prices are fair for the area and the staff is friendly. My personal favorite cocktail is the Junglebird. They have live music as well on certain days. The huts outside will make you feel like you aren’t even in Florida. 516 Grant Street, Dunedin, FL 34698. (727) 333-7777.

Casa Tina "Fresh, Healthy, Authentic Mexican" - This is a great Mexican restaurant with a unique flair. The flavors are different from what I think of, but it still works. They went through some hardships during the pandemic, but are still open. The margaritas are delicious and so is the Paloma and Micheladas. They have Posole, Tamales, Queso Fundido, Mole, and more. Expect to spend about $14-22 for dinner items. 365 Main Street, Dunedin, FL 34698. (727) 734-9226

Chitokan

Caracara Asian Tapas,Tacos and Bar - Tiny Asian fusion spot that is quite delicious. I went when they were first getting open, but it has continued to grow over time. The Bird & Bee sandwich is delicious with marinated thigh, house pickles, aioli, toasted brioche, and local honey. 730 Broadway Suite 4, Dunedin, FL 34698. (727) 221-5444

Crazy Burrito - I was really impressed with this simple little Mexican spot. It reminds me of California Mexican food. It’s very much a hole in the wall. They have birrio, quesabirrias, burritos, and tacos. Meat options include lengua, steak, chorizo, chicken, fish, pastor, and more. Most full entrees are under $10 which makes it a good spot to visit on a budget. 1140 Main St unit 2, Dunedin, FL 34698. (727) 754-2347

Ice&Cream Creamery - Great little ice cream shop to finish a day at Dunedin after you make it to the docks to watch the sunset. They have a ton of flavors and are very popular with the locals. Flavors include Red Velvet Cake, Watermelon Sorbet, Butter Pecan, Fresh Strawberry Ice Cream, Pistachio, Dulce “De Leche”, and more. 200 Main St #109, Dunedin, FL 34698. (727) 223-8742

Sabor A Cuba, Inc. - This is a great little Cuban dive. They have cigars, Cuban sandwiches, and Cafe con Leches. It really makes me think of Miami when I go there, there isn’t much decor though, it’s more like a little house. 828 Highland Ave, Dunedin, FL 34698. (727) 238-5368

Enjoy!
