On Sunday at 4:30 pm an armed robbery was reported at 4400 Broadway, the location of the O’Reilly Auto Parts store up the street from Fenton’s and other well-trafficked areas.

Police are searching for two suspects in connection with the robbery. The suspects reportedly stole an Audi vehicle and miscellaneous items.

The vehicle is a white 2006 or 2007 Audi A4 or A7.

The vehicle has a black stripe across the rear and has white paper license plates.

Police report that the suspects fled southbound on Broadway in the stolen vehicle.

One suspect is described as a man in his 20s or 30s. He is 5’6”, weighing approximately 170 lbs and has sleeve tattoos.

He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, navy blue shorts, gray baseball cap, and a black mask. The suspect is armed with a black Glock handgun.

The second suspect is a man in his 20s or 30s last seen wearing all-black clothing and is believed to be the driver of the vehicle.

Further information on this incident is unknown. If you see the vehicle or suspects, contact Oakland Police with more information.

7,400 Citizen app users were notified of this crime, a relatively small number for the area and type of crime.

Some commenters in the app wondered if the stolen car was somehow linked to the perpetrators prior to the crime, as in an accomplice vehicle due to its having paper plates. It should be noted, however, that this is a common occurrence with new or newly registered vehicles.
