We make our doughnuts daily, from scratch, using only the finest ingredients possible, and prepare as much as we can in house. Our team works day in and day out, mixing and rolling out hand-crafted dough, standing over simmering pots of fruit purees and sizzling pans of bacon, and whipping up fresh creams and custards. - Sidecar

Sidecar donuts has been a staple in my life ever since I first discovered this spot nearly 3 years ago now. I love the fact that they use wholesome ingredients and are non-GMO.

I'm not saying donuts are healthy for you, but I'm also saying if you're going to indulge you might as well pick a healthier option and Sidecar donuts is it.

We fry in small batches all day long, guaranteeing each customer a fresh-out-of-the-fryer treat. From the moment you step into one of our shops and bite into one of our hand-crafted doughnuts, you’ll surely agree that Sidecar is not your ordinary doughnut experience! - Sidecar

Every time I come here for a few donuts they taste like they were just prepared. And sometimes, usually on Friday mornings when they serve the greatest apple fritters in the world, they're still hot.

I'm telling you, there is nothing better than a fresh-out-of-the-oven Apple Fritter.

Our story begins with a warehouse-turned-test kitchen in Costa Mesa, CA, a renovated 1959 Helm’s Bakery Truck, and a vision of a beautiful, new kind of gathering place for our community. As we worked to create the most innovative and delicious doughnuts around, we invited friends and family to weekly taste test gatherings, and hit the town with the truck to share fresh doughnuts with our neighbors - Sidecar

One of my favorite things about Sidecar is that they have seasonal flavors, as well as their traditional ones.

The traditional flavors consist of: Butter and salt (amazing), Old fashioned (11/10), Huckleberry (an absolute must 13/10), Saigon cinnamon crumble, salted malted chocolate chip cookie dough (so good), celebration cake (my favorite), maple bacon, vanilla bean glaze (nothing better), choc-a-lot (perfect for the chocolate lovers), basil eggs benedict, apple fritter (Fridays only and way too good), cinnamon rolls (Wednesday only).

The seasonal ones currently are: Strawberries and cream (a comeback I'm happy to see), susie's blueberry pancake (11/10), and rainbow berry poptart.

They also offer vegan and gluten-free options.

This spot is a few blocks from the beach and is the perfect place to pick up a few (or a few dozen) donuts for a party or event or if you just want to treat yourself. Brace yourself, the line is always long but well worth it.
