MTA bus driver assaulted in the Bronx, suspect at large

(THE BRONX, N.Y.) The New York City Police Department began an investigation last Monday after a passenger assaulted a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus driver in the Bronx, according to PIX 11.

Officials said the MTA bus was driving eastbound on East 170th Street, near Morris Avenue in Claremont, when an unidentified man onboard chucked a drink at the driver shortly after 1 p.m. on May 24.

Shortly after, the passenger struck the 38-year-old bus driver in the neck, police said.

The passenger bolted off the bus in an unknown direction, according to the NYPD.

Authorities said the driver denied any medical attention after the assault.
