Mayor Frank G. Jackson has recently announced that Cleveland will lift its Proclamation of Civil Emergency. The mayor made the proclamation to mitigate the spread of the Covid-19 during the early onset of the pandemic.

The reason behind the decision is the decrease in Covid-19 cases for the past four weeks. The Cleveland Department of Public Health reported 795 new Covid-19 cases in the past two weeks or 198.5 new cases per 100,000 people in the City of Cleveland.

“Despite the ongoing decline in new Covid-19 cases, the city will continue to closely monitor Covid-19 data,” said Mayor Frank G. Jackson. “If new cases, hospitalizations and/or deaths begin to rise, we will revisit the decision to reopen. The withdrawal of the proclamation’s highlights are:

In addition, the security department of the building or area should control the maximum capacity determined by each of the building’s departments and apply restrictions when needed. This directive applies to the City Hall and city buildings following the end of the proclamation.
