The 37th Downtown@Dusk Summer Concert series at Akron Art Museum will greet music fans again this July as it returns this summer with live sessions from the Bud and Susie Rogers Garden. A virtual viewing option is available online for those who want to enjoy the concert from the comfort of their homes.
The concert series will be held every Thursday throughout the month, with four concerts on the roster starting on Thursday, July 8, through Thursday, July 29.
Enjoy performances from local musical talents from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. No admission fee is required to enter the concerts. Patrons are required to observe health and safety guidelines while attending.
“We are thrilled to bring back Downtown@Dusk in person this summer. This has been a long-standing favorite summer event to experience in Akron. I can’t wait for the opportunity to join visitors in the garden once again for wonderful performances by local musicians. We are carefully following health and safety guidelines in the Museum and the garden, but if you wish to watch the concerts online from your own location, we welcome you to do just that,” said Interim Director Jon Fiume.
The event welcomes all communities to experience a diverse range of music from Jazz to Blues, Rock, Soul, and many more. Some of them are well-known names in the local music scene, such as:
- Curtis Taylor Quartet (Jazz), performing July 8, 2021
- Sammy Deleon y Su Orquestra (Latin Jazz), performing July 15, 2021
- Timi Funk (Neo-Soul, Blues), performing July 22, 2021
- 15 60 75 Numbers Band (Blues, Jazz, Rock), performing July 29, 2021
