Lake View is a bustling neighborhood in Chicago that has easy access to and is directly south of Wrigleyville and Boystown. The neighborhood itself is full of a pretty wide selection of various restaurants that are great places to try out. Here are a few great food establishments around Lakeview to try out sometime.

1. Redhot Ranch

Redhot Ranch is great for those times when any good cheap food will do. This restaurant specializes in the hot dog native to Chicago and also smash burgers all loaded with a huge serving of fries. The Chicago dogs are a solid choice and are good enough to rival many other Chicago hot dogs found in places like Portillo's or Superdawg. The smash burgers are even more popular than the Chicago hot dogs and are grilled to perfection with the crispiest bites. In addition, Redhot Ranch's entire menu is pretty cheap with each item coming in at below ten dollars.

Redhot Ranch can be found located at 3057 N Ashland Ave.

2. Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams

As the summer rolls around and Chicago finally starts to warm up again, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams will be the perfect place to cool down with a nice chilly ice cream cone. Jeni's is well known to have very adventurous flavors and will always have something on the menu that will suprise any visitors. Some of the quirkiest flavors in the past have included flavors like sweet corn or even beer flavored ice creams.

Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams can be found located at 3404 N Southport Ave.

3. Coda di Volpe

Coda di Volpe brings a classy and authentic Italian restaurant to the Lake View area and offers some of the best pizza and pasta around. Some of the most popular items at Coda di Volpe included dishes like the sweet corn ravioli and their classic rigatoni. In addition, Coda di Volpe also has a very popular bar to hang out at which is great for those looking for a low key establishment to hang out at.

Coda di Volpe can be found located at 3335 N Southport Ave.

4. DMK Burger Bar

DMK Burger Bar is very popular around the Lake View area for its rich and wild burgers as well as their milkshakes and despite having burger in the name, DMK's milkshakes might be even more popular than their burgers. Everything on the menu at DMK Burger Bar is absolutely extravagant but the milkshakes take it one level further with the option to even add liquor shots to the milkshake to give it that additional kick. For those that want to start their pregames early after dinner, a boozy milkshake from DMK Burger Bar is the perfect first drink to start the night off with.

DMK Burger Bar can be found located at 2954 N Sheffield Ave.

5. The Gundis Kurdish Kitchen

The Gundis Kurdish Kitchen is a Kurdish restaurant which definitely adds quite a bit of diversity to the restaurant scene in Lake View. Kurdish cuisine normally entails dishes like berbesel, biryani, kellane, or kuki. The Gundish Kurdish Kitchen is highly recommended for those looking for an earlier meal in the day or as a brunch spot as the most popular option at this establishment is their full Kurdish breakfast service which includes a meal for two people that is an entire spread of various vegetables, cheeses, jams, eggs, and fries amongst other ingredients. For those that have not tried Kurdish cuisine before, The Gundis Kurdish Kitchen is a great place to try Kurdish food out for the first time.
