I love to find great places to eat close to home. This local restaurant stands true to its name, making you feel like you are part of the neighborhood. That restaurant is Local Bar and Grille in Wood Dale.
Local Bar and Grille have been around for about a year now. They now have new owners and revamped the spot that used to be called Crossroads. They remodeled the whole restaurant, both cosmetically and food-wise, and it was definitely for the better.
The staff is super friendly and everyone in the bar area treats you like an old friend. It has a very welcoming vibe.
I went with my wife around five in the evening. The bar and restaurant were fairly busy. I was seated at a nice comfortable table in the back, where they have large projector screens playing the latest sports games.
I was greeted by our waitress and a lady, whom I assume was the manager or owner, and they were both very friendly. They gave us some suggestions with the menu on what to order that was good.
I ordered a few appetizers. The calamari and the spinach dip both were very good. I really enjoyed the flavors of the spinach dip and I could not stop eating it.
I then ordered for my main dish the three taco special with my choice of meats and my wife ordered the ribs. My tacos were tender. I went with streak and it was extremely flavorful. The ribs were also very tender and the sauce had a good rich BBQ flavor. I also ordered a side of fries with my tacos. They were perfectly crispy and very tasty. I also had their mac and cheese and it was fantastic.
As we enjoyed our meal, I noticed many people started to come into the dining area. This restaurant gets pretty busy around dinner time. They also have a nice small patio located in the front of the restaurant that looks enjoyable to sit outside on a nice day.
I really enjoyed Local Bar and Grille and will definitely be returning. The food was very good, as well as the overall service and atmosphere. I give this restaurant a rating of 8 out of 10.
