The teen and her dog were driving through Alabama on their way to the beach. Her father, John Westbrook, is suspected of keeping her against her will by keeping her inebriated. After researching her name via police systems, the officer realized who she was.
Authorities said a Tennessee teen who had been kidnapped and drugged by her father was discovered unharmed on Friday after being gone for nearly two years.
According to Chief Jimmy Hill, Alabama cops stumbled across Daphne Westbrook at 1:30 a.m. in the city of Samson, where an officer stopped the now 18-year-old for driving with an expired tag and a smashed light.
After running her name through police systems, the officer discovered who she was, according to Hill.
Westbrook and her dog were driving across Alabama on their way to the beach.
“She appeared to be in good health. According to AL.com, the chief added, “She said she was going to the beach to enjoy herself.” “She stated that she had recently turned 18 and was now free.”
It wasn’t said where she came from.

Cops let the 18-year-old leave after concluding that she was “in no danger” and that she didn’t require any assistance.
