Last year we missed out on a number of fan-favorite and fun food festivals. The warm and sunny months make Tucson the perfect destination to get outside and have a great time with delicious food. Well, now that COVID restrictions are being lifted and things are starting to go back to normal, food festivals are popping back up here in metro Tucson, including the Picture Rocks Food Festival

The Picture Rock Food Festival is kicking itself off and making up for lost time. It isn’t going to just be a one-day event. No, it is going to take place on the first and third Fridays every month going forward. Located at 7680 No Sandario Road in Oro Valley, Picture Rock Food Festival is the largest food festival event in all of West Tucson.

The event will run from 4 PM until 8 PM and offer up a large selection of food from local Tucson businesses and restaurants. It’s all about helping you sample and enjoy food not only from favorite restaurants but new locations you may not have come across. After all, with such an expansive lineup of restaurants, bakeries, and food selling businesses here in Tucson it’s almost impossible to try them all. But this festival does make it a bit easier.

The festival will include live music, and there will be plenty of space for your children to come out and play, not to mention ample seating for pulling up a chair, eating food, and catching up with friends. There will also be space if you want to enjoy a picnic-like atmosphere with your own lawn chairs or blankets.

The current festival is sponsored by all local businesses. Life’Sweet Honey Farms is a primary sponsor. It is also the only local beekeeper producing organic, raw, non-fine filtered, and non pasteurized honey. Hughes Sanitation Services is another one of the primary sponsors and is a proud residential waste and recycling provider here in greater Tucson.

If you’re looking at coming out for your first Picture Rocks Food Festiva, 6780 North Sandario Road is right on the southeast corner of Picture Rocks Road. You’ll find it just behind the Dollar General Store.

Several local food trucks and restaurants are always on hand to help put together the event. Every week the lineup is a little different, which is what makes it so fantastic. You can come out to each of the festival nights and experience different food and live music. It’s also a fantastic way to kick off the weekend if you’re looking for something to do with the family (or even something to do on your own).

Beyond the food trucks and restaurants serving food, there are also all kinds of take-home items you can grab. Whether it is a special fruit cocktail, iced tea, cookies, or other goodies, there’s plenty for you to pick up at the festival if you aren’t able to stay, or if you want to pick up something for the road.

One of the best ways to stay on top of the upcoming restaurants and food trucks that are participating, as well as lookup pictures from the previous Picture Rocks Food Festival nights, make sure to follow the group on Facebook. The Facebook page is regularly updated and you can also ask questions if you’re looking for specifics. Feel free to send the group a message on Facebook, or if you want to take part and offer up food or other products of your own the organization’s email is listed on the Facebook page as well. Of course, you can always stop by, check it out, and then ask about participating during your own visit to the festival.
