Any pharmacy willing to get shots into arms during the COVID-19 pandemic is a winner in my book

A recent trip to the local Somerset, Massachusetts Stop & Shop revealed they have everything they need to help vaccinate the public against COVID-19.

I used Stop & Shop's online vaccine scheduler to find and make an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine for my mother, who hadn't yet received one. The Somerset, Massachusetts location had the Moderna vaccine, which was perfect since my mother didn't want the harder-to-find one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine available at some of the other Stop & Shop locations.

I filled out all the required paperwork ahead of the appointment and accompanied my mother to the Stop & Shop pharmacy fifteen minutes before the appointed time. A very nice pharmacist asked my mother to fill out another form identical to the one I'd already done virtually.

Since I didn't know whether they needed a paper version of the information I'd already supplied, I simply filled out the form again, in ink this time. My mother had forgotten her reading glasses.

After we turned in my mother's paperwork, the pharmacist said she'd be with us in fifteen minutes. At precisely 2:05 p.m., five minutes after the technical start of the scheduled appointment, she proceeded to vaccinate my mother. It was a process that took around ten seconds and was, according to my mother, completely painless.

The benefits of choosing a Stop & Shop pharmacy location to get your COVID-19 vaccine include plenty of space for social distancing and nearly unlimited parking spaces. You can even pick up bread, milk, and other groceries while you're there; or, like in my case, purchase several twenty-dollar scratch tickets for your mother as a bribe for getting her vaccine.

Overall, it was a quick and positive experience, one that we will be forced to repeat in exactly twenty-eight days.
