Washington Wizards Guard Russell Westbrook walking to locker room after ankle injuryNBA

During game 2 of the eastern conference match up between #1 seed Philadelphia 76ers & the #8 seed Washington Wizards, Russell Westbrook was in the process of leading a fast break near the 10:30 mark in the 4th quarter when he stepped on the foot of 76ers player Furkan Korkmaz and ended up spraining his ankle.

The injury was bad enough to take Westbrook out for the remainder of the game. Earlier in the game he was taken to the back in a seperate incident where he collided with 76ers point guard Ben Simmons but was able to return from that before this second injury occured.

Although we are talking about the injuries, this is not what the article is about unfortunately.

While Westbrook was being assisted to the back, a Philly fan decided he wanted some attention and wanted to be a funny guy and dump popcorn on Westbrook as he entered the tunnel.

**Video of Injury/incident here**

In the video you can see clearly while Westbrook was walking in the tunnel something was dropped on him and it ended up being popcorn from a fan sitting above. Westbrook was visibly enraged and attempted to break away from the staff and get to the fan. Luckily he was restrained properly and calmed down rather quickly but not before pointing and screaming at the fan before going to the back.

In the video you can also see fans point out the person almost right away and the guy was rightfully kicked out of the game and more than likely banned for life from attending any future games as he should be
