Atlanta United 2 midfielder Aiden McFadden was named USL Championship Player of the Week for Week 5 of the 2021 season. He scored two goals in his team's 5-0 victory against FC Tulsa and scored a goal in Atlanta's 2-2 draw against Memphis 901 FC. He has scored four goals so far.

After leading against Tulsa, the Pennsylvanian ripped the enemy's net within the span of only three minutes. In minutes 3, Connor Stanley took control of the ball, he was almost going to take the ball out of the field when he saw McFadden in front of the enemy's goal and gave the ball to him. McFadden then hammered the ball into the net. Three minutes after, he scored again with a header after being assisted by Ambrose.

In the game against Memphis, McFadden scored in minutes 28. Matías Benítez was given a free kick about 25 yards from the enemy's net. The midfielder received the ball and sent it flying with his right foot straight into the top left corner and went through John Berner's defense. Memphis then scored twice in minutes 45 and 73 and made the score 2-1. They almost won at this point. Three minutes into the stoppage time, the 22-year-old finally equalized after scoring through a volley and evened the scoreboard into 2-2.

71 percent of voters were in favor of McFadden. The poll was conducted by a national panel of independent media representing every USL Championship market. This was Atlanta United 2's third time having their player winning the honor.

ATL UTD 2 (2-1-2, 8 points) will face Birmingham Legion FC on May 30 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium (ESPN+, 3:30 p.m. ET).
