In Michigan's movie history, there have been some rogues. The incentives made the state a mecca for movie shoots when fully operational, like the Death Star from "Return of the Jedi." Hollywood's biggest productions have come to Michigan to lop off some budgets, I mean, to take advantage of Michigan's diverse settings. The result was a marked increase in familiar sights on megaplex screens. A chronological list of thirty of the most notable films shot in Michigan, if you want to watch or rewatch them, or maybe even find a spot where George Clooney or Jane Seymour once stood.

Here are three famous movies and films set in Michigan:

Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Batman vs. Superman is about the society that believes Superman should not exist. Batman defeats Superman after he agrees. Superman, on the other hand, fears Batman's actions are reckless and tries to stop him. As Lex Luthor plots something that will destroy humanity, he owns Lex Corp. As a result of the destruction of Metropolis, the people debate whether Superman should be praised as a hero or turned over to the authorities.

On the other hand, Batman sees Superman as a danger to everyone and prepares to take on the Man of Steel himself. On a side note, Lex Luthor plots to destroy humanity while mysterious Diana Prince/Wonder Woman pursues her plans. Will one triumph over the other? Or will the world face certain doom?

The End of the Tour (2015)

The End of the Tour opened in 2008. David Lipsky (Jesse Eisenberg) works at home on his laptop when he gets a call from Bob Levin (Ron Livingston). According to an unconfirmed report, Lipsky learns from Levin that the writer David Foster Wallace (Jason Segel) has committed suicide. Lipsky, however, does not believe it, believing that it is the result of kids making a death hoax. When he searches for the news online, it only confirms what Levin told him. Lipsky is shocked to his core. As news of Wallace's death spreads, many people pay tribute to him. Lipsky delivers a eulogy at a local radio station. Lipsky searches for some old cassette tapes and batteries to play the recorder at home. He hears David's voice as if he were still alive as the machine powers up. Lipsky drops the tape recorder to the floor in shock as he listens to the man he once interviewed for five days.

Need for Speed (2014)

Need for Speed is about a mechanic who moonlights as an underground racecar driver strives to take the top prize in America's most prominent street race in revenge against the ambitious ex-NASCAR champion who had him framed and sent to prison. Need for Speed is based on the video game franchise of the same name and tells garage owner Tobey Marshall (Aaron Paul). Marshall forms an uncomfortable partnership with wealthy ex-NASCAR star Dino Brewster (Dominic Cooper) to keep his family-owned business afloat. The partnership falls apart when a lucrative sale to car broker Julia Bonet (Imogen Poots) does not go as planned. As a result, Brewster puts the innocent Marshall in jail by staging a tragic street-racing mishap. Two years after he is released from prison, the vengeful Marshall attempts to prove his mettle by winning the De Leon -- an illicit race showcasing the country's best underground talents. Not only does the ruthless Brewster have a bounty on Marshall's prized car, but the police are hot on his trail during the white-knuckle, coast-to-coast chase.
