I'm always looking for a baby-friendly dog-friendly breakfast in Los Angeles because I can't take that sad look my dog makes when we leave him at the door...

Jessica Biel was inspired to open a restaurant after the birth of her son Silas. Although now defunct, Au Fudge in West Hollywood once touted a designated "kid-area" and in Los Angeles the word "kid" can be used loosely :).

Here are my 5 favorite breakfast spots right now that happen to cater to both types of children.

5. Alcove (Los Feliz)

This spot is only getting better, with the amazing events happening at Big Bar next door. Unfortunately, the kiddos cannot go to that one, so stick to Alcove when you want to enjoy a great meal in a stunning patio space that serves breakfast until 5 p.m.

4. Home (Los Feliz)

If the thought of a $20 Mimosa really boils your breakfast potatoes, then consider walking down the street for a $12 discount at Home instead.  The entrees are well priced averaging around $10.95 and their signature Bloodys are $10.

The seating arrangements at the Los Feliz location are very similar to Alcove except that fido must be kept on the floor. Not generally a problem for most but unfortunately I have led my pooch to believe he belongs at the table.

3. Black Cow Cafe (Montrose)

The Black Cow Cafe in Montrose specializes in making you feel right at home. Case in point, they open at 9 AM but let people start sitting at 8:45 AM. So if you’re thinking of coming with your pet try and arrive before they open as outdoor tables are sometimes hard to come by. As far as food goes go if you’re in the mood for something sweet, try what they have on special–doesn’t even matter what it is I promise it will be good. Savory lovers should try their entrees served in a skillet, with extra biscuits on the side.

2. Sqirl (Silverlake)

Come carbo-load at this Silverlake breakfast spot by Jessica Koslow that has put Los Angeles on the map for Toasts and Bowls. It does tend to get extra crowded on the weekend though so try and arrive before 9:30 AM if you want to avoid a line out of the door. Chances are though if you have a little one that you will awake!

Ample outdoor seating on Virgil avenue means it won't be too hard to find a spot for your pet or your baby carriage.

1. The Pub at Golden Road Brewery (Glendale)

This is my number one for multiple reasons.

1. They serve beer at breakfast, which starts at 10 AM exclusively on weekends.

2. They have a designated play area for kids AND dogs.

3. The food menu is above average for a brewery, and most items hover around $10, which leaves lots of money left over for those Golden Road brews.

This ranks high on my list of the best for a baby-friendly dog-friendly breakfast in Los Angeles because almost everyone there is doing the same thing as you! Happy dining!
