Atlanta United has unveiled their special edition Adidas PRIMEBLUE kits and will debut their new uniform on May 29 against Nashville SC.
As part of MLS WORKS’ year-long Greener Goals initiative, the league and the sportswear brand are trying to raise awareness for environmental issues and aim to help make sustainable communities.
To celebrate World Oceans Day on June 8, the club will host an online auction of signed PRIMEBLUE full kits, including jerseys, shorts, and socks signed and used by Atlanta United players. The auction will last for one week.
The proceeds will go to Georgia Aquarium’s Research and Conservation Efforts, which have contributed to monitoring and studying all marine life through education, preservation, animal care, and research.
Furthermore, MLS will also work together with Twitter to promote the sport’s notable tradition of a post-game jersey swap. The session will be held after every MLS game played on May 29. The jersey swap will be decided on Twitter and will feature Adidas PRIMEBLUE kits.
The kits are made with 50% Parley Ocean Plastic, upcycled plastic waste intercepted on shorelines and coastal areas.
Starting from May 20 to May 28, fans can nominate other fans on Twitter by using the hashtag #JerseySwapEntry, tagging their club, and giving a brief description about the reason why the individual deserves to participate in the jersey swap. Lucky fans will receive a worn jersey and be featured on acknowledgment posts.
