Atlanta is mostly known as the hub of the American South. With its city lights and tree canopies, the vast and vibrant city has a lot to offer. There can be a staggering number of options when it comes to having fun in this charming city. Rest assured, though, for we have tailored you a list of our top recommended places to visit.

1. Atlanta Botanical Garden

Firstly opened in 1976, the Atlanta Botanical Garden comprises 30 acres of outdoor gardens. Here you'll find the delightful Children’s Garden, the serene Storza Woods complete with an amazing canopy walk, and the stunning Skyline Garden. There are also smaller themed gardens, such as the Japanese garden, the formal garden and the rose garden.

The garden is especially beautiful in spring when you can enjoy the blooming cherry blossoms in the Japanese garden. The ticket is worth every penny, so click the following link to get yourself one: https://atlantabg.org/tickets/

2. Georgia Aquarium

Georgia Aquarium asserts itself as the biggest aquarium in the entire western hemisphere. It has recently expanded its collection to display more marine creatures, including sharks. The amazing thing is you can now get into the water and interact with these sharks. And while they appear far more stunning in flesh, you can also visit them virtually in case you don't have the time to. This one from the Ocean Voyager is our favorite: https://www.georgiaaquarium.org/webcam/ocean-voyager/

Their exhibits feature more than 70 habitats, with 10 million gallons of water and thousands of species of marine life. So, are you ready to explore the ocean?

3. Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park

Buildings on the park are temporarily closed due to Covid-19 with visitors allowed to visit the site for a self-guided tour. But, once they are back open, the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park is certainly something you wouldn't want to miss, especially if you are a history buff.

The park includes the birth home of Martin Luther King Jr. where he spent the first 12 years of his life. The tour is ranger-led and they will narrate to you the history of Dr. King. So, when the pandemic ends, don't miss your chance to visit this historic site: https://www.nps.gov/malu/planyourvisit/basicinfo.htm
