Even though we live in the country, my daughters love going to the park.

Spokane, Washington surprisingly has some really great parks for kids in the area. In fact, we have been to a number of parks since moving back and every time we have had positive experiences. Their ease of parking and being able to find them have helped make our trips into town to go to play days a low-stress experience.

However, with all the options of places to go, sometimes it helps just having a shortlist of places that you can choose from at first. Especially, now that we are all able to get out and about more freely with Covid subsiding across the state.

5 Easy to Get to Parks for the Kids

When it comes to finding a park to go play with our family, we want safe, easy to get to places that we can drop in and have some fun. In this article, I want to share five parks that are great for kids right here in the Spokane area.

Riverfront Park

Our family really loves Riverfront Park. There are a lot of options for things to do at Riverfront park and being down in the city, makes it easy for us as parents to be able to stop in places to grab a cup of coffee or a quick snack with the family too. The convenience factor and options factor is great when it comes to Riverfront Park.

Manito Park

This is another convenient place for playdates, especially as there is SO much park to be able to play for the kids. We like to stop here and walk through the park with the kids and they enjoy picking flowers (dandelions) and seeing the different things you can see in the park.

Olmstead Park

This is another one of those parks that is fun to stop in at for the kids. A wide-open space in a revitalized part of town. One of my favorite coffee shops is nearby with donuts there too. And, there always seems to be something going on there too. Whether it is some kind of city or community celebration it is fun to join in.

Comstock Park

This great park on 29th has play structures, open fields, and so much more. It has been a place we have gone to a couple of times and my kids love the play structure. It is another convenient and easy place to get to for playdates or general outings to stretch our legs and see something new.

Audubon Park

This is our favorite place to go because of the splash pad. During the summertime when things are hot and we want to get out and play, this is the place our kids like to stop because of the splash pad. With the water running and open grassy fields nearby we can put a blanket out, bring a picnic basket, and enjoy some sun as a family.

Final Thoughts

These are only five of the many great parks around the Spokane area for kids. They are all easy to get to and have open space to play as a family. Most of all, they are safe places too.
