Summer is nearly upon us and is the perfect time to get your food truck game on, so we've scoped out some popular Dallas trucks. We also suggested some dishes that should be tried at each truck if you're looking for a few new eats outside the box.

From Texas BBQ to waffle concoctions, Dallas's mobile food trucks offer an impressive array of quality food you can enjoy outdoors in the north Texas warmth.

As a bonus, during these pandemic times, they offer a delicious way to avoid indoor dining.

Social media is updated most often and will have the latest information on location and hours, so be sure to check them out first to verify this all.

Although some people are apprehensive about food trucks, these will give even a four-star restaurant a run for their money regarding value and flavor. What's more, they will beat out most fast-service restaurants when it comes to speed of delivery.

If you have a Texas sized appetite, bring it here because these trucks are ready to lasso it in. Below's our take of some of the best food trucks in Dallas, TX.

So without waiting another #nomnom minute, here are some of our top picks and a fav dish to grab while you're there.

1. Flaming Grill Barbecue

It's not quite Texas unless BBQ is involved, and Flaming Grill Barbeque does a perfect job.

With a legit flaming grill, this food truck smokes up its meats over real wood fire, the way BBQ was intended. Get a whole platter of fall off the bone ribs, or enjoy a meaty plate with your choice of chopped brisket, pulled pork, grilled chicken, or hearty Polish sausage. With sides like baked beans, creamy potato salad, and man & cheese, you're basically set.

Another true uniqueness of theirs is their offering of tacos and quesadillas, with a pitmaster twist.

Must try: The Brazilian Burger — This sweet and savory burger features a grilled Angus patty topped with provolone cheese, romaine lettuce, fried onion rings, and a grilled pineapple slice plus a spicy chipotle spread.

2. Cuates Kitchen Food Truck

Awarded the "Best Traditional Taco Award" at Tacolandia by Dallas Observer

Founders and creators Carlos and Carla Rodriguez are twins. With roots in Veracruz, Mexico, they'll be the first to share that their passion has always been food. And by the way, Cuates means twins.

Check their social profiles for the latest locations, but you must check them out whatever you do. You won't be disappointed!

Must try: the carnitas and barbacoa tacos. Oh-Em-Gee is what you'll be saying right before you go back for seconds.

3. Ruthie's Rolling Cafe

Ruthie's Rolling Cafe is a top-notch, gourmet mobile food truck serving up the most pleasing melt-in-your-mouth grilled cheese sandwiches and mac 'n' cheese.

You might think you know what a "traditional" grilled cheese is, but traditional's not a word that does their sandwiches justice.

With offerings like BBQ brisket/cheddar on sourdough staple, The Boss is one of their menu favorites. Right along side of it is a host of big Texas melts that hue hot, sweet and savory. Sometimes all at the same time too.

Must try: The Italian Hippy: basil pesto sauce, grilled tomatoes, and melted mozzarella cheese on grilled sourdough bread. Grab a side of Mac & Cheese of the month, and you're all set!

They travel all over Dallas, so don't miss out!

4. Waffleolicious

When Rick Rackley, the founder, started Waffle O'licious in 2018, it was with the plan to first take his recipes to the public then bring them in to appreciate and enjoy all aspects of the company offerings we have to date.

Mission accomplished.

They started with a gourmet food truck, hitting breweries, arcades, marathons, really anything they could get our truck in. Their goal is to bring the best Belgian waffle-based menu selections to the metroplex.

Must try: the 'O' Na-cho's. They cut up some Belgian waffles, deep fry them, cover them with fried chicken tenderloin pieces & double smoked bacon, then parmesan & cheddar cheese drizzle. Top it with fresh jalapenos. And of course, the traditional 'O' Strawberry WaffleBelgian waffle sprinkled with powdered sugar, sliced fresh strawberries, covered with homemade strawberry sauce, whipped cream & a cherry on top.

5. Egg Stand

The eggs-perience here was da bomb. And as the quote below says, you should definitely prepare yourself to rethink what you thought you knew about eggs.

"If you eat here, prepare to rethink everything you thought you knew about the egg. We're proof this versatile food need not be relegated to the breakfast menu." -Michael Luttinger, Owner

Must try: The Hot Texan: Angus beef, pineapple chutney, bacon, spinach, fried egg & sriracha mayo on a toasted brioche bun and The Big Twelve: Ham, cheddar cheese, fried eggs & maple honey glaze.

There ya go, partner!

The final bite

So, there you have it, ladies and gentlemen, those are the best truck stops and food trucks to get a great meal from this summer around Dallas, Texas.

Now you only have one decision to make – Where to go and eat first!
