The Vox Kitchen has been on my list for a while and I finally got a chance to visit them after a long day of exploring the city. Located in Fountain Valley, they have indoor or outdoor dining seating now along with takeout or delivery on all the third-party apps. They are taking the proper precautions with the pandemic and I felt safe dining in. I came here on a Saturday night around 8:30 PM and it was packed even during the pandemic. I would recommend joining their Yelp waitlist before you come or make reservations via Yelp ahead of time. The Vox Kitchen is a great Asian fusion place but they are most known for their garlic noodles which I have been dying to try. I opted for the rib eye steak and garlic noodles with the elote as the appetizer.

Rib-eye steak and garlic noodles: this was so good! It was probably the best garlic noodles I've ever had and Vox Kitchen deserves all the hype because people are not joking when they said it is the best in the city. It's more on the thin side for the noodles but so rich and flavorful with garlic. The steak laid over a large nest of garlic noodles and even though they cut up the steak, the pieces were very long. There is habanero sauce on the side which tasted delicious with the steak so make sure to drizzle it all over! The steak is more on the chewy side than tender but it wasn't too bad and they cooked it medium. For $18, this dish was enough to fill up two people and completely stuffed us.

Elote as an appetizer: I was a bit disappointed with this dish as I thought there would be more or maybe made it more flavorful but it was lacking in flavor. I've had authentic elote from the Mexican carts and thought this was mediocre compared to them. I think it would've been better if it was on the cob but it was off the cob.

Overall, I'll come back for the garlic noodles! The portions are huge here so unless you have an empty stomach, I would suggest sharing the noodles with a protein and trying another dish. The ambiance is super cute and is perfect for a date spot. Get on the Yelp waitlist before you arrive at least an hour before because I guarantee you this is a popular spot and get packed quickly.
