Now that summer is right around the corner, I’m sure everyone is looking forward to the warmer summer nights to grab a cup of ice cream to enjoy their day. I am a huge ice cream fanatic and Cookiebar Creamery has one of the best ice cream and cookies in town. I am not kidding when I say I used to come here almost every week since they have amazing flavors and they make all their ice cream in-house. They have creative Asian flavors like pandan, Vietnamese iced coffee, jasmine milk tea, and even an interesting one like egg custard which I have been dying to try soon! Cookiebar used to have a location in Alameda but that has shut down during the pandemic so I believe their only location is now in Old Oakland near Broadway and Chinatown.

Saying I'm obsessed with their jasmine milk tea flavor is an understatement. I bought a whole pint the first time because it was amazing! Not only is the flavor on point but it is very refreshing and light. My other favorite is 1606 which is a mixture of cookies and cream, fudge, and peppermint. It has the perfect mixture and has a smooth, creamy consistency. It is more on the minty side but the cookie chunks add a sweeter factor. If you are a huge fan of mint chocolate chips, definitely go for this one. Cookiebar's flavors are extremely accurate to their names. I've had the honey melon flavor before and it tasted exactly like what it was. Cookiebar is ranked high on my top picks but the price is a bit steep. You do get a lot per scoop, but $4.50 for a single scoop is overpriced in my opinion so I try to limit myself on how many times I stop by.

If you are ever in Oakland, definitely make it a stop since I promise you will not regret it. Their cookies are also delicious since it is baked fresh every day and their cookies and cream cookies and regular chocolate chip cookies are to die for. The cookies are perfectly baked and love how even though the outside is crispy, the inside is still so soft and tender. Their cookies usually sell out by the end of the night so make sure to call ahead for pickup if possible. Overall, you must stop by Cookiebar Creamery - I guarantee you won’t regret it!
