There are tons of paddling events coming soon for you to enjoy on the Clinton River. And if you are looking for an outfit to rent a kayak from, check out Clinton River Canoe & Kayak.

Clinton River Canoe & Kayak

The Clinton River Canoe & Kayak offers river trips for all skill levels regardless of your paddling ability. You can choose an adventurous paddle on the Clinton River, which could take you through Class II-III rapids, an exciting intermediate run, or opt for a relaxing paddle through family-friendly park areas. Whichever you choose, you can discover the natural beauty of the Clinton River from the unique vantage point of a being in a canoe or kayak. The Clinton Rover paddling season runs until October 11.

There are several events you can participate in with Clinton River Canoe & Kayak. You can join in Trash Runs to give back to Mother Earth by joining in on the fun of keeping the Clinton River clean with the Clinton River Watershed Council. Canoes and PFDs will be provided free. It's a great way to get involved in the cleaning of the river. Upcoming dates for this summer are June 15th, July 9th, August 13th, and September 10th. All dates start at 9:30 a.m. Contact CRWC for all registrations for any of these Trash Run dates.

More events with Clinton River Canoe & Kayak are the General Paddles. General Paddle departs at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. You must have a reservation to participate in the General Paddles. In the General Paddle, during the 2 and 3 hours sections on the river, approximately 2-5% of boats tip over in this area. The 3-hour section starts in Utica. There are tight turns and sandy beaches throughout, with good swimming areas. E-Z docks at both two and 3-hour river entrances and exits. The 2-hour section starts in Sterling Heights; you’ll paddle through Dodge Park and see wildlife, walking trails, picnic areas with BBQs and bathrooms. The 1-hour section finishes off thru the Rambler Gulf course and past the old dance hall ruins. The most mellow section to relax in before your Up North adventure ends. The General Paddle ride costs $30, $35, $40 for Kayaks 1, 2 & 3 Hours and $40, $45, $50 for Canoes 1, 2 & 3 hours. General Paddle participants will meet at 37328 Utica Road in Sterling Heights.

Paddle Palooza

The biggest paddling event of the year is coming up soon, and you don’t want to miss it! Paddle Palooza is on June 5th starting at 8 a.m., with a rain date of June 19th. Registration is with Auburn Hills. You can download the application form and additional information HERE. Paddle Palooza is $20 per person. There are races for you to participate in different categories and prizes to be won. The adventure paddle for the non-racers is after the racers take off, and our largest group hits the river.

The annual 8-mile Auburn Hills to Rochester Hills Paddlepalooza has three events to choose from: the kayakers race for 1-person), the Canoeists race for two people, and the Adventure Paddle, which is not a race and no inflatables are allowed. The Adventure River Paddle – 8-mile paddle run to Rivercrest Professional Center in Rochester Hills is estimated to take 3 hours. A limited number of canoes and kayaks are available for rent, so make sure to rent your paddling gear soon to participate in Paddle Palooza on June 5th.
