The Lucky Monk - Barrington, IL Restaurant Review

If you are ever in the Barrington area and want to have some great food with a great atmosphere, you need to check out one of my favorite restaurants called The Lucky Monk.

The Lucky Monk is a restaurant and brewery. They make their own beers that are on tap. My favorite beer on tap is “The Fallen Angel”. It is a pale ale with hints of citrus. If you love Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, this is the beer for you.

I love their food at The Lucky Monk. They always have some awesome burger creations that would give Kuma’s Corner a run for their money. One of my favorites items, which is a secret menu item, is the Smashburger with cheese. It comes in a double beef patty and it is so worth it.

I also love what they are doing with their appetizers. One item I always order is the huge Bavarian pretzel, which comes with three dipping sauces: Wisconsin cheddar beer fondue, tomato fondue, and cinnamon butter. It is pure bliss.

I always get the Trappist Trio, which comes with truffle fries, cheese curds, pickle fries, spicy dipping sauce, chipotle ranch, and tomato fondue. It is delicious.

If I am not in the mood for a burger or pizza, I order their delicious, authentic Fish and Chips. It is beer-battered Alaskan cod, hand-cut fries, and coleslaw. The batter is so crispy and flakey, perfect for any day of the week.

For dessert, I cannot refuse their housemade Sticky Donuts. They come with a trio of dipping sauces - raspberry, chocolate, and caramel. They are delicious.

I love the overall atmosphere and vibe of Lucky Monk. I love coming here on a Spring or Summer day because they have one of the best outdoor patios in the suburbs. It feels like an oasis. The inside is also very nice with a very large area and a spacious bar that is more than enough room to relax. This place tends to get very busy, so I would suggest a reservation.

I will definitely return to The Lucky Monk. They are always consistent with their food and one of my favorite restaurants.

I give The Lucky Monk a rating of 9 out of 10.
