The news that another round of $600 stimulus checks might be coming has been very well received.

It comes at a great time for Los Angeles residents. Covid numbers have been plummeting, and we are less than a month away from fully reopening.

Whether you get a check or not, Los Angeles has plenty of options for you to spend some money on.

Here are three of my favorites.

Restaurants

The June 15th reopening means that restaurants will finally be allowed to operate just as they did before the pandemic.

Many industries were hit hard, but the restaurant industry especially so.

The restaurant scene in Los Angeles is one of the best in the world.

I won’t name any specific places. People will disagree no matter what restaurant’s I name.

Whatever your favorite spots are, nows a great time to visit them.

Movies

Cinema was another industry devastated by Covid.

Many medium-sized chains all across America, including Alamo Drafthouse, Arclight Cinemas, and Pacific Theatres, didn't get through Covid unscathed.

AMC has been holding on by a thread.

However, there has been a reason for optimism. Many Hollywood heavyweights, including former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, appeared at the AMC Century City 15 auditorium in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Their message was clear:

“We are back! We are back!”

Streaming has changed the movie industry permanently, but that doesn’t mean that theaters can’t make a comeback. If you enjoy the theater experience, now is a great time to support your favorite theater.

Universal Studios

Universal Studious Hollywood has been a Los Angeles staple for years. It has fun for the whole family.

It finally reopened last month. At this point, most of the rides and attractions are now reopened.

There are pretty strict masking and distancing requirements right now. But, that will probably change somewhat after June 15th.

Final Thought

The pandemic walloped Los Angeles. But it’s coming back stronger than ever.

One positive that came out of this pandemic was a new appreciation for all we have. So this is a great time to go out and support all the businesses you appreciate most.
