I'm always on the lookout for the best "kid friendly" happy hour and the newest member of the Bacari franchise in Glendale is about to become your favorite after-school activity.
Happy Hour at Bacari GDL
Happy hour begins at 2:30 PM and features $9 or less cicchetti items (savory snacks) and $11 woodfire pizzas from Executive Chef Lior Hillel.
My absolute must-haves include the Stuffed Cremini Mushroom with basil-walnut pesto, micro bulls blood, and a five cheese blend, Bacari Fries with chef's sunflower, roasted garlic, lemon, and smoked pepper sauce (sunny side egg two dollars but so worth it), and the Bacari Burger resting atop a telera roll in a worchester aioli (also worth adding the $2 egg). Remember all of these items are only $7!
Still hungry? Add in a Bacon & Double Cream Brie Pizza made with organic tomato sauce and fresh jalapeño for only $11.
Now, what are you drinking?!
How about a $12 specialty cocktail like the Brown Butter Sour made with brown butter-infused whiskey, dry curaçao, egg whites, simple syrup, and lemon, or an $8 House Wine or Sangria? Beer drinkers can save even more with a $6 six-point "the crisp" Pilsner. Well drinks are $9.
Are you really ready to go to town??
Partake in the GDL special which is 90 minutes of open bar EVERY NIGHT! Keep it light with wines, beers, and sangrias for $30 or add in some liquor cocktails for just $35 more.
Looking for a great dinner deal?
Every last Sunday of the month is Beefsteak Sunday, where you can get all you can eat Petit Filet, Frites, and Open Bar for just $55 a person! This takes place from 5 p.m. to close and gets you 2 hours of eating -- which equates to a whole lotta steak.
How about Brunch?
Brunch offers nearly the same deals as Happy Hour with nothing on the menu being over $13. Menu highlights include a Chef's French Toast on brioche bread ($9.5) and a Sabich roasted eggplant dish with purple potato, dukkah, and eggs ($12).
Bottomless Bevvies are also available for 90 minutes of your brunchtime, and it's not limited to Mimosas! Wine, Beer, Bloody Marys, and more all up for grabs ($30-$35).
Final Thoughts
The outdoor patio makes this a great "kid-friendly" happy-hour spot and everything is priced just right to make it always feel like happy hour. Brownie points for having a clear gender-neutral bathroom as well.
