On early Saturday, a man lost his life following a single-vehicle crash near Porter, officials said in a statement.
Emergency personnel quickly responded at about 4 a.m. on reports of a crash on Interstate 69 northbound near FM 1314 where a Jeep went off the roadway and slammed into a pole, as per the Montgomery County Police Reporter. Due to the accident, the vehicle had caught fire and the male driver died on the spot. Authorities have not released any other details regarding the accident.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is looking into the crash.
