(BALTIMORE) The Maryland Department of Health on Monday reported 212 new COVID-19 cases, the state's lowest count of new COVID-19 cases since March 30, 2020.

The state's positivity rate decreased to 2.51% in the last 24 hours.

The state confirmed three new deaths within the last day, increasing the total confirmed deaths to 8,740.

There are currently 613 hospitalizations, with one new hospitalization in the last 24 hours. There are 159 ICU beds in use.

Baltimore City ranks fourth in the affected counties with 52,353 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.

Gov. Larry Hogan announced that 66.5% of all adults have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The state has administered over 5.57 million vaccine doses.

“From the very beginning of this crisis, we Marylanders truly have been all in this fight together,” said Hogan in a statement. “Today’s key health metrics show that, after a long, hard-fought battle, we are nearing the end of this pandemic as we finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. Those who have not yet been vaccinated are strongly advised to immediately do so. The easiest way to be protected from COVID-19 is to get vaccinated right away.”

Marylanders can register to get vaccinated at covidvax.maryland.gov.
