Do you want to pick your own sunflowers? Yes, that's right-- pick! Not just a place to look at sunflowers, but to take home a bouquet. You can at the new site for Tanaka Farms in Hana Field in Costa Mesa.

These warm-weather beauties are a great way to add some color and interest to your summer garden, and what better way to do it than to spend all day leisurely foraging through rows of flowers looking for the perfect additions to your home decor?

Sunflowers are really famous for their unique shape, which makes them easier to find in a field. Many farmers like planting sunflowers because not only is it pretty, but it’s also a cash crop.

The plants are quite tall, which makes them easy to spot among other flowers. You can find sunflowers in colors of white, red-purple, black, yellow, pink, and orange.

Sunflowers can grow into gigantic plants and produce amazing seeds that you can cook, eat raw in a trail mix, or toss into a salad. Depending on the flower, a single plant can grow up to 12 feet tall and have up to 2000 seeds.

Hana field is a working farm, so you will need to bring your own cutting equipment. Do not forget your water bottle. Sometimes, it can also get muddy, so sturdy shoes are advised. Even though it is an unforgettable day for children, they can get lost and disoriented in the field, so they need supervision.
