(ATLANTA, Ga.) On a nice, sunny day, you could find a small cart, a colorful umbrella and a chalkboard sign boasting fun popsicle flavors like Chocolate Sea Salt, Strawberry Lemonade, Orange Cream and Cookies 'n Cream.

If you’re unfamiliar, the cart is known as King of Pops, an Atlanta frozen treat company. Founded in 2010, the company began as a single pushcart on a street corner, at the intersection of North Avenue and North Highland. The cart also made its way around the city near Centennial Olympic Park and Georgia State University.

While based in the heart of Atlanta, the business now has a farm 30 miles west of the city where they grow a few of their ingredients. There is also a distribution company where they distribute all of their King of Pops products to local stores, including South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee.

Now, the frozen treat company has expanded to a larger retail space in Ponce City Market. Located in the Central Food Hall of the building, the company can take things to the next level, serve more fan favorites and introduce new items to customers.

The new space offers soft-serve ice cream, slushies, and Prince of Pops, a new smaller ice pop with no added sugar. The soft-serve ice cream includes non-dairy-based options and the space also serves “Poptails” on draft — cocktails with pops served inside of them.

In addition to fun and refreshing treats, King of Pops is doing their part to encourage vaccinations by offering a buy one, get one deal. Every Tuesday in May, anyone who shows their COVID-19 vaccination record card (first or second dose) will receive a buy one get one pop at the company’s indoor or outdoor bars at the PCM location.

“Our team has been hard at work opening our beautiful new indoor space at PCM, and it feels like great timing. “There are glimmers of light at the end of this tunnel (260M vaccines administered so far!), and we can finally move towards being more social (and less distanced) again. Let’s celebrate!” CEO Steven Carse said in an email announcement.
