Have you heard the buzz? The Quarry Modern Eatery in Monroe, formerly known as the Bedrock Quarry Bar & Grill, has undergone a lot of exciting changes over the winter — giving the community a truly unique dining experience.

The Quarry has a new name, logo, menu, staff, and a beautiful new look.

Due to Covid restrictions and renovations, the restaurant was closed for six months. This week, they are officially open and can’t wait to welcome people back and show off their stunning make-over!

Last summer, I was drawn to the restaurant for its mesmerizing views overlooking 333-acres of spring-fed water, the circle of hanging wooden swings around a firepit, and the tranquil setting. Last weekend, I was there for the soft opening and my jaw dropped. Now, the restaurant, with its multitude of improvements, befits the gorgeous location.

The owners, brothers Shane and Corry Stanley, reached out to Chef Tino Amaya, Restaurant Consultant, late last year to help them reorganize the vision of the restaurant. Chef Tino assembled an amazing team, including an acclaimed chef from out west who worked for Wolfgang Puck and Charlie Trotter. They have put together a fabulous new menu including white wine mussels, sesame crusted ahi tuna salad, Lake Erie Walleye burger, shrimp tacos, and angus beef ribeye.

Last weekend, I had some of the best clam chowder I’ve ever tasted. I also ordered one of their daily features: butter poached halibut with mango coconut curry, colored tomatoes, and a fried sticky rice cake. It was to die for!

Chef Tino invited vegan chef and founder of Solfood Collective, Jacquelyn Jones, to The Quarry — not only for her culinary skills — but for her innate interior design acumen. Jaquelyn completely transformed The Quarry, giving it a fresh, chic, coastal look. It has a Malibu vibe, without being pretentious. The white walls, quartz bar top and tables, natural wood, and greenery is the perfect choice for relaxed, waterfront dining. Jacquelyn will be working with Chef Tino to add some vegan dishes to the menu and incorporate more plant-based options and pasta dishes.

Jacquelyn also helped the Stanley brothers make The Quarry more eco-friendly. “It’s important to them and important to me. The take-out Styrofoam and plastic are compostable, and the bags are biodegradable. Our straws are wheat stalks and the disposable plates we use at the grilling stations are made of sugarcane.”

The Quarry offers stunning views of the water whether you choose to eat indoors or out on their expansive deck — which opened today! The owners and staff are committed to giving the community a special place to come with loved ones and enjoy top-notch service, a full bar, and delicious food in an upbeat, West Coast atmosphere.

The Quarry is going to be THE place to be this summer! Beginning Memorial Day weekend, The Quarry will have live music Thursday — Sunday. There are popular, local bands and musicians scheduled throughout the summer and into October.

There will also be pontoon rides available. Cruise with your friends on the crystal-clear water and enjoy one of The Quarry’s majestic sunsets.

There are plans to put in a sand volleyball court and outdoor bathrooms as well!

Visit The Quarry and feel your troubles drift away. You will be transported to Malibu without leaving Monroe.

The Quarry Modern Eatery is located at 15625 Hull Road, Monroe, Michigan 48161.

I’d love to hear what everyone thinks of the changes! Let me know in the comments!
