Searching for an Ocala playground with an over-the-top climbing structure and more? The Brick City Adventure Park is it!
"I loved the huge play structure the best. I also liked that it had a comfy swing for me to rest on." Parker, age 5
What we loved:
- The massive climbing structure
- The bucket seated carousel
- The mix of modern and traditional equipment
- The nearby track
- The extra amenities
What we would have loved:
- A closer restroom
- More shade over the central part of the playground
Convenient extra features:
- 5 trash cans
- 2 wooden canopies with picnic tables
- 2 park benches
- 2 grills
Brick City Adventure Park, located between the Cornerstone School and St. John Lutheran School, has it all.
We loved the two wooden canopies with picnic tables that sheltered us from the rain and the large playground with a colossal cargo netted structure featuring ladders, plastic ramps, and even a little swing.
Even though my two preschool-aged sons were more than happy with the massive climbing structure, there was plenty more to do at this Ocala playground.
Take the rock climbing wall, where your little monkey can practice hand-eye coordination and problem-solving skills safely.
Or the curved climbing bars next to a chained cargo net structure. Your little ones will have loads of fun climbing on all sorts of equipment.
While you're there, your nugget will also enjoy swirling on the buck seat carousel.
And, Brick City Adventure Park, although modern, doesn't give up on the classics. Choose from four regular swings and two bucket swings.
Other bonuses:
- Younger kids frolic to the plastic play structure with two slides and stairs.
- To the right of the playground lies a walking path that gives the kids things to do. For example, one section instructs kids to walk along on shapes while identifying colors and more.
- At the playground's entrance is an adorable travel library, where you can borrow books.
This Ocala playground is conveniently located next to a football field and a circular track.
During our visit, kids played games on the massive field while families walked on the 400M track.
Most kids are drawn to the massive cargo net play structure, which my 5-year-old climbed with ease, while my 3-year-old needed some assistance.
On this enormous structure are wooden ladders, a green plastic swing, ramps, cargo ropes, and more.
Although a football field's length away, visitors can access the public restroom (just plug your nose).
And, there is also a green space by the picnic tables, where you can play a game of tag or soccer.
While we were there, we also enjoyed watching the numerous squirrels running about and the shady spaces under the many trees.
Parents will appreciate the two park benches on each side of the playground.
The park itself seems pretty well maintained, although we did spot a few pieces of trash.
This modern playground and holds our vote for one of the top playgrounds in Ocala, conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood, with modern play equipment, excellent amenities, and a massive cargo netted play structure that kids love.
And one last perk we discovered after our visit: The Brick City Adventure Park hosts a summer camp Mondays-Fridays from 8 am to 5 pm and is $150 per kid a week. Find out more about the Brick City Adventure Camp here.
