(SALEM, Ore.) Following the trend of decline in demand for COVID-19 vaccines around the country, Salem Health has seen the number of people coming to its clinic drop by 40% in the last month, KOIN reports.

Demand for the second shot, however, has remained consistent with a high return rate.

Salem Health is now offering and encouraging walk-ins at the Oregon State Fairgrounds and Expo Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. People can still make appointments in advance, but it’s not required.

Salem Health’s mobile vaccine team is continuing to prioritize residents who are unable to travel to vaccine sites. The team has brought COVID-19 vaccines to seasonal farm workers, senior living communities, homeless communities, food packaging plants, churches and rural communities in both Marion and Polk counties.

“Our focus is providing vaccines wherever it is needed,” a Salem Health spokesperson said. “As we have throughout the pandemic and through our vaccine response, we will adjust to meet the needs of our community.”
